K-9 Power

Last Tuesday I went to spend the day with Chief Roberts, however he forgot that he had a meeting in a town 30 minutes away. It all worked out though as I spent most of the day with Officer Parker and his K-9.

Missy is the name of the K-9 and she is a drug dog. She is a very friendly dog and likes to play rough, as I found out meeting her. As I played with her we got a little rough and then she went for the groin area. I decided to stick to petting her the rest of the day. She was excited to get out in the car and go to work. When her handler asked her if she wanted to go find some dope she got really excited.

Without mentioning any of the calls let me say this, the K-9 unit was very efficient that day.  K-9’s are a big asset to any department in their search for drugs. They are also great when there is a limited amount of officers to work the streets.

I did get to spend some time talking with other Officers. I did get to spend some time with the Chief when he came back to the PD. He spent time talking about his Officers and how well they work together.
