We had a great time visiting three Army National Guard Units today. An Infantry Unit, an Artillery Unit and an HR Company.
We started the day cooking pancakes for the Soldiers. They enjoyed this sweet tasting meal and we were able to fellowship with many of them.
I met the new 1st Sergeant of the Infantry Unit we tried to get into last December. He spent 10 years in the Special Forces and a part of that was with 3rd Group. 1st Sergeant Jenkins gave me his cell phone number and said he wanted to keep in contact with us, so that we could come to his Unit and do Chapel Service for them.
I also met some of the command staff of a Field Artillery Unit that we have been trying to get into. They are supposed to get in contact with us to come and do Chapel for them in the future.
We had Chapel service for two National Guard Units today. I preached on David and his mighty men out of 2 Samuel. We took prayer request afterwards and prayed for the Soldiers. Of course we made sure to present the Gospel individually, as we had plenty of time. One Soldier talked to us and told us what a blessing it was for us to come and do Chapel Service for them.
Kim spent about 45 minutes after Chapel helping a young Soldier that has some things going on in their life.
I was able to talk with a soldier and give them some advice and direction for their family. This Soldier and their spouse are faithful to come to Chapel service every month.
At the end of the day we spent about half an hour with one of the company commanders and building a relationship with them.
